The back story fascinated me more than the story. I have to admit that for the first half of the book I wanted to forget about it and choose another book. The scene where they contrive to see the unconscious duke naked is a classic. But it was a happy ending bepated for everybody. Arabella’s brother seemed very young, hardly eighteen. And the answer is a firm, no, he certainly cannot.
Truthfully that’s why this story was a bit of a dud for me.

It takes a good many pages before karfn two of them really end up without their clothes. She turned and found herself drowning in his sea-green eyes. Cute story of a duke who returns, by accident, to the woman he loved and ruined ten years earlier. I hope that Robert and Liza get their own story. I read it last week and not much it is memorable. I can’t remember exactly how old he is but his character makes him seem like he’s a boy of sixteen. He was also in love wi I LOVE Karen Hawkins books — they all tell a good love story, but they are also all laced with wonderful bits of humor.
However, they might become impatient with her pride and stubbornness. She had dreamed of the day when she would have the chance to face him. Nawkinspages. Lucien and Arabella have a past though, so that makes it easy to understand why she doesn’t go so easily into Lucien’s arms. I just cannot get into the story.
Everyone has different tastes in writing styles and Ms. I am just not impressed by anything in this story and cannot find anything or anyone that I felt oh man I liked that in this hawkihs. The second half picked up a bit, but definitely not any kind of standout, plot-wise or otherwise.

I was not disappointed and this started me on obtaining all of Karen’s books.
A Belated Bride
The story was some how slow at the started but them it took a faster pace with better twist, laughter, and romance making akren end more enjoyable. There is a smuggling mystery going on in the background of the story and I really was convinced that it was Aunt Jane, but any of the ladies in the Hadley family is capable of being the ringleader in a smuggle band.
Which makes it ever harder for both to battle the passion that never disappeared I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed the hawkiins book in this series. The epilogue was a bit unnecessary; I liked the idea of everyone believing in the ghost of The Captain brdie actually having him be made real. Please enter the message.
As the heir to a dukedom, Lucien was a little bit of karenn rakehell, spoiled, and well aware of his worth. Hawkins’ strength is characters, and this is a tale that will give you that twinge of angst right behind your breastbone because these two characters obviously love each other so much and have no idea how to make things right. Fast forward ten years later, which is where the story begins.
